I wouldn't backflush the rad with distilled though, it could start to get a bit expensive! :lol:

Yep, distilled/de-ionized water would be best, i've had no worries using tap water so far (touchwood) Wigan must have quite soft water i guess? (don't tell wiganers that something from there might be soft though! :lol: :shock: )

Wigan must have quite soft water
Famous last words, says here that Wigan is in a slightly hard to moderately hard water area. Confusing though since Manchester's water comes from Lakes in the lake District, a soft water area.

I did turn on the tap in a "camp way",so that should soften it up a bit... :lol:

If you think how much water is boiled in a kettle before it scales up, I don't think it matters what water you use. There's not much dissolved calcium in 6 litres of even hard water.
