Hi guys,
On my facelift model, the only reversing light I seem to have is the small clear light on the near side. The offside has a coloured bulb in it, I presume for the revamped fog light.
Neither of the clear lenses on the tailgate appear to have bulbs in them.
Does anyone know if they have the same setup. I'm finding reversing in the dark a chore as you can't see anything. Was hoping there was an easy way of getting more light, ideally with the tailgate clear lenses.
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for the pointers, shame those lenses are dummies.
Have a great christmas and thanks again for taking the time to help.

In true Blue Peter fashion, here's one I made earlierkeefysher wrote:I've got a pair of the small driving/fog white lights off Simon Jones to fit on the rear somewhere, once I've fitted the rear nudge bar.

Trick photography
. It is actually the same light in two locations to check it fits. Not quite got round to wiring up yet, but will probably use a relay run from existing reversing light & then I've already got a 12v feed from the main battery which runs to the side panel by the rear conversion.
There seems to be some debate on whether reversing lights are part of the MOT test or not. Some websites say they are not, others say if they are fitted they should work. I couldn't see anything that says having more than two was an issue, so you should fail by fitting extras. If you fitted a manual switch, then it would probably need a warning light to show on the switch to remind you that they are on.

Hi Simon,
Are those the Hella daytime running lights, I've seen a set in Halfords, LED ones that look very similar?

They're Sparkrite 'Super H3 Hyper Fog' lamps which use 55W bulbs, so are pretty bright:

I bought quite a few sets when I found out that they were a good fit on the Bongo. There are still a couple of them new & boxed sat in my garage which are available for £5 a set + £2.50 P&P. Drop me a pm if you would like any more details.

If you are on friendly terms with your local scrappy, ask them how much it would cost to buy some broken rear light clusters from any type of car using a 12volt system... (hopefully they'll be free) Then decide on which fitting best suits the clear section in the tailgate, for later use in that part of the lens, it's be relatively simple to retro fit the bulb holder from another car, either plastic weld, or bond the holder in somehow, with some silicon sealant for good measure,i'd be tempted to re-seal that part of the lens anyway as it seems quite prone to water ingress.apole wrote: Was hoping there was an easy way of getting more light, ideally with the tailgate clear lenses.
