HELP - Bongo losing power

I've been putting that one off!! I have to park on the road - A62, very busy and at the moment cold and wet - but I can find a spot at my son's house, even that though is on bare earth so muddy too. I shall just have to bite the bullet.

Hi Ron,if you are stuck and want a temp repair,get a piece of string(real string)soak it in washing up liquid an use that,

Thanks Mal - what a useful tip, something I would never have thought of. Must mentally store it for 'roadside repairs' and make sure I have some in my tool box.

But why washing up liquid? I'm intrigued. Would anything similar (e.g. veg oil?) do. Also (although I appreciate the advice is for general use, to be mixed with common sense), in such a tiny space, could you get a piece of string in position properly and staying in place so it didn't end up cuasing potential blockage when things are reassembled?
