This coolant pipe could be yours

This is the o/s coolant pipe from the rad (top) hose to the engine hose. There was a hole at both ends, but was only leaking from the front. As the holes are at the bottom of the tube they can only be seen from underneath the vehicle and with hoses removed.

I had silicone hoses fitted in Feb this year, all was well untill I had a leak from the front hose/coolant pipe. Well worth checking.

Don't mess about with it...change it....I think Bell Hill garage will be able to get one for you....I did think of getting a batch made up.....???

Yes, you are right Haydn. I have had one delevered on Wednesday from Japanese Automotive Soloutions. I fitted it today. Will do a bleed/Afreeze tomorrow.

The worring thing is what about the other pipe n/s, and associated pipe/flange to block, If one has gone so might the other. . As you have said before, where do you stop, The leak has been steadily getting worse.

With the lower cover removed, all the pipes/hoses , etc, can be seen in all there glory. When this is replaced there is no chance of spotting leaking from the hidden hoses.

I would expect the other pipe to last longer and have never heard of one failing...Having said that....If you can get one at a decent price ...whilst it's all in bits ?????

I's been off the road for a week and a half. I think I will get it going, leave the cover off for the time being and source as many other pipes and hoses that I can. This will be a nice job for the summer. Halfords have a nice deal on antifreeze and other winter products at the moment. Buy two get three, 15 ltr antifreeze for around £35.00.
