Rear Heater

Post by steady1946 » Mon Dec 01, 2008 2:31 pm

The answer to this question is probably on this forum somewhere, but I cannot find it. I am having trouble with my rear heater,ie:not working.I know about the switch the activate it but nothing is coming out of it.Other people have mentioned that the blower motor may have seized. My question is where is the motor situated so that I can check it.Is the relay in the same place?

Directly below the control panel in the rear in a well below floor level, you can see the coolant & ac pipes going into it fro underneath. To access it you need to take off the side panel.
Do you have a conversion? as sometimes they disconnect or remove the rear heater.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Don't forget steady, if you have the regular aircon (not climate control) The front heater needs to be on to be able to make the rear heaters operate.

:)
Thanks for that Kirsty.I don't have a conversion.I have the manual controls on the heater. The front one works ok.The rear one did work when we first got the Bongo. For some reason it decided not to work anymore.I tried changing the fuse, but that didn't have any effect.I will just have to take the side panel off and see if it is the motor seized. BDC I know I have to have the front heater on,info from the forum.Got to get it working because sometimes we have our grandaughter in the back and she'll complain about the cold.
Thanks for the replies.

There is a little orange light on the upper part of the "rear" switch ed...is that illuminating when enabled?
