Fog Light switch

Post by lauraed » Sun Nov 30, 2008 9:33 pm

Hi this might sound like a silly question but we just recently bought a mazda Bongo and today while driving around in the fog we could not find the fog light switch anywhere would anyone please be able to point us in the right direction.

Thanks

Welcome to the madhouse :D - don't forget to put your location in your profile.
You may not have one. Mine were disconnected because they were wired directly in to the side light circuit, which is illegal in this country.

Look to the right of the steering wheel on the lower banks of switches, it'll probably be a non standard switch & should illuminate when switched on, as Franco says, if its fitted.

If it has an MOT, it must've had one at some point . . . . ?

If I'm wrong, somebody will correct me, but i think I'm right in saying that any vehicle registered after 1980 has to have at least one rear fog light to pass the MOT.

I was thinkning rear, but comments equally aplicable to fronts except for the nonstandard switch bit
As for having to have one to pass an mot yes it should have, but it's amazing how many haven't [-X

on a slightly different note but along the same lines :P i have a rear fog light (button located on the far right of the sterring column for mine) but the button is a non standard one, the problem is that when i was travelling in thick fog from devon, for 180miles the the button itself was blinding me!! its so damn bright   so im looking for the origional switch or one compatible now,,anyone got any they can sell me or maybe know anyone who does? or perhaps a model that will fit just as good??

Theres no original rear foglight switch Gaz as they don't need them in Japland.

You can get a front fog switch wired up, one from a 626 will work too, afaik.

It is a 626 Kirsty.. I got the same.
It back lights green like the rest, but i added a small blue Led in the button housing, so that when its on the rear fog logo on the button turns blue!
The one in the middle is off a slightly later model & has its own on light, which works with the main beam. I use that as an isolator for the spots. (negative switched off the spot light relay).
