Hi, i put another post in about a week ago about a flat battery, well i bought a charger charged the battery (which had almost no charge)and everything was fine, until today when the alarm wouldnt work. Turn the key, very faint dashboard lights. I took the battery out, put it on charge, and it was about 60% charged. Is there a problem? i'm going to have the battery and the alternator checked tomorrow. I've heard that a cat1 alarm system doesnt run the battery down too much as long as you drive the car at least once a fortnight, and we've been driving the bongo every other day since i recharged the battery.
any tips/hints?
cheers

Sounds like you've got a big short or the battery is stuffed & not holding charge. If you've got a multimeter, check to see if there's a current drain from the battery , if so, check each circuit for currnet drain with everything switched off.

Put a volt meter across the battery terminals...It should read about 12.7 Volts and 14.2 Volts with the engine running (alternator O.K.)
