strange knock

Post by westonwarrior » Sat Nov 08, 2008 9:34 am

Ok I changed the droplinks and ARB bushes and brackets all round and it cured a crunch and thump

but there is still a clunk when going over a bump I can get it to clunk while rocking, so I crawled under and it seams to be coming from the diesel tank?

any ideas what it could be and how to stop it?

Could it be a nozzle spout has broken from a forecourt Diesel pump at some time.

Cheers Mal..

hi weston, most vehicles have a small filter on the end of the fuel tank pick up.If bongo is the same it sounds as if yours has fallen off & rolling around tank

does it do it when the tank is full. could be the float on the fuel guage sensor it loose and is hitting the metal tube thats in there with it, you can gain access to the fuel tank from under the panel inside the bongo under the middle seats, if it gets annoying it might be an idea to whip this off and physically look inside the tank from above.
