Whineing Noise ( Not me the Bongo)
When I accelerate there is a whineing noise and I have been told you get that with a turbo ( 4wd 2.5 tdi) is this correct or do I have a problem and can I fix it. Many thanks, Anthony.

Should only kick in at 2000rpm if it's the turbo, try tightening your seat clips by bending them in a bit if it is.
If not it could be an exhaust manifold stud? plenty of info on here, not had the problem myself, I'm sure someone'll be along with further thoughts

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Check the No 1 exaust manifold stud is not broken....It's the only one you can see...just above and right of the alternator. Easy to get fixed and common.

Hi,
Sounds extremely daft, but we had a whinning noise which got louder the faster we went. Turned out to be a leak in the AFT rubber. I know silly silly daft
But true!
Cheers Anna
