Electric Mirrors

Post by KevG » Mon Nov 03, 2008 2:28 pm

Anyone fitted electric mirrors to a non electric Bongo, just an idea i'm having as me and Nutty both drive it and its a pain in the airse to keep moving the mirrors all the time, would the wiring loom be standard with the plugs already there, i would just need to source a pair of mirrors and the dash control button?
i have seen new mirrors on fleebay for £200, but breakers should have them for a lot less if its an easy job to do i might give it a go.
anyone with some advice please....

I may be wrong but I thought that I had read that non-electric mirrored bongos already have the wiring set up - they just don't have the switches in the cabin.

I thought all bongo's had electrically adjusted mirrors? Not all have electric folding mirrors though...

My 99 V6 Bongo doesn't have them either. Not a major worry, though I did spend an hour looking for the swicth when I got it...

Electric Folding mirrors are more likely to be fitted to bongo's as opposed to freda's (same with rear spoiler, electric blinds etc) but freda's often have them fitted too, but i thought that ALL bongo/freda variants had electric adjustment of the mirror lens? I think it's a standard feature.
