Rattles. Football rattles, annoying aren't they - isn't it

But they are though. Ya can never track 'em down. My dashboard panel has one, or would have if I didn't keep one of those chamois covered foam demister pads jammed in the O/H corner between dashboard top and windscreen

Article in MMM this month (Nov 08) about somebody who completely 'de-rattled' a coachbuilt motorhome, using a variety of techniques.
Now of course for all sorts of reasons coachbuilts rattle a lot more than most Bongos ever will, but the point of this post is that to fix some rattles he used some of these:

Wedge Strip Brown 1-8mm Pack of 50 £1.99 for 50 from Screwfix.
http://www.screwfix.com/prods/84649/Fix ... Pack-of-50#
Might work for some kinds of rattles in a Bongo (like Mikes windscreen/dashboard one?).

Just a thought..
Could it be inside the door...?
Someone had a door rattle on here a good while back, drove em mad!
They pulled the door card off checked all the fittings & rummaged around in the cavity at the bottom of the door & found a Japanese Mazda factory screwdriver!!

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Wow! A superb little tip there Trev and I think I'll follow it up. I've obviously got a connector somewhere that has 'let go' but the prospect of dismantling the console to track it down (with all the attendant risk of messing up something lese in the process) makes the decision on whether to 'open up and operate' a no-brainer.trevd01 wrote:Article in MMM this month (Nov 08) about somebody who completely 'de-rattled' a coachbuilt motorhome, using a variety of techniques.

Thanks for the 'heads-up'

Re: rattle in the drivers footwell...
hi
mine has a rattle front left ,
i have tracked it down to the flap that changes the air flow for the vents
there is a flap that rattles just in front of the fan you will have to take off the ducting to see it

Re: rattle in the drivers footwell...
i took the plastic step out from the drivers door to pass some wiring through and found a 10mm socket that was rattling about, did the wiring found the rattle and got a useful 10mm socket .

Lost without my Bongo.
