Coolant Alarm Yes or No??

Re: Coolant Alarm Yes or No??
..........what was the question again??
oh yes, I remember. That would be a 'yes' from me then.
Great bit of kit as far as I'm concerned. It's given me some extra piece of mind which is what I wanted. No more no less.
I understand what it will do and also what it won't do, because I read the posts before I got it....... some of them I seem to have read over and over again since!
Thanks Haydn, for making it available and making it so easy to fit.

And seein as my name was mentioned earlier I fully concur with the previous post.
No complaints whatsoever about the alarm...just a hiccough in what is a very simple installation which in my case had a virtually undetectable (no blame on anyone) installation fault.....now fixed.

Well here is another thread that has had some good input without me...........haydn callow wrote:The last thing I need or want is a slanging match with anyone..However if I belive my integrety is being questioned I will respond.

An understanding that air in the head can cause problems.
I have never slagged off any system that offers help, just tried to help people understand and get help understanding the system myself.
Please don't get upset about this, take it as constuctive critisism. Dont cherry pick parts of a reply that suits.
To infinity and beyond

No slagging match here, just gave my opinion and my thoughts and views!haydn callow wrote:The last thing I need or want is a slanging match with anyone..However if I belive my integrety is being questioned I will respond.

once the fact sheet is finished people can make their own minds for themself so need for people to tell them to get this alarm fitted or that alarm fitted

Re: Coolant Alarm Yes or No??
Good grief
Come on guys cut it out
We are in the process of writing a fact sheet about the cooling system and the alarms available with input from various people on all alarms and their merits, to stop threads like this getting ott every time the cooling system is mentioned.
Can't you all just hold off till its published so we can point to that instead of having to act like nannys to a bunch of squabling kids.
Its rediculas that this is in danger of flaring up again
This post is not aimed at anyone in particular, but to all, please stop now.

Re: Coolant Alarm Yes or No??
firstly... he is entitled to sell his alarm via the main site page, not "push it" on the forumroosteruk wrote:[As Haydn sells the alarm, surely he is entitled to 'Push it'?
and seeing has he has already gone on his holiday, I don't think he is skint?.

secondly...i only put the bit about needing some extra money so that to defuse the situation abit and to make people aware that there isnt an argument so to speak! as it seemed to be getting a little heated did this thread

no i dont think so, certain people have been flaunting the rules of the forum lately, hense one of the reasons why the fact sheet is getting made uproosteruk wrote:Hasn't this site gone very nasty and backstabbing lately.

From the way this thread is developing I wonder which heads the air is in - that of the Bongos or of the posters!!
keefysher wrote, and again I quote:
There have been 8 reported cases of overheating on this forum.
The way these discussions have been going there has been rather more overheating of the forum than there has been of Bongos!!
Cool it, guys!

Re: Coolant Alarm Yes or No??
Well I am one of the 8, had to replace the engine, but I have made sure that I have maintained the system
I am confident to run without a coolant alarm, this is my personal choice. I think if you are at all unsure about the state of your coolant system, fit whatever you feel is right for you
just thinking are the 8 reported overheating bongos ones fitted with the coolant alarm? if so mine overheated before they were put om the market, our bongo overheated due to not knowing the system, if you read all the excellent posts on the subject, make up your own mind, lets stop all the arguments please

Re: Coolant Alarm Yes or No??
If Haydn's reply "Every Bongo should have one" followed by a link to his personal website is to the question "Do you have a low coolant alarm fitted?" on the 7th post on page 1, then that is blatent advertising IMO, even accompanied by a friendly smiley wink.
If the rules are no advertising in the threads then Haydn needs to think about what he is posting otherwise it might get up people's noses (which seems to be happening)
A lot of the so called backstabbing in the past few months also has a lot to do with the subcontracting of the low coolant alarms to another forum member at an "attractive" price to resell so I can see that, coupled with blatent advertising, it may cause issues among the ranks.
Lets just answer the original question with a positive YES to ANY alarm being "a good thing" and Haydn, this isn't the first time your advertising prowess has been debated - could you agreee to advertise in the appropriate place?

If anybody has anything helpful to say to help Becks-bongo, please start a new thread - this one is now locked, as I'm sick of it
- it hasn't been on topic for ages
