Front drop links

Hi, how do you change the front drop link? do you have to jack up support anything or just unbolt and replace?

Thanks for that, did a search but that post didn't pop up I knew I had read somewhere about jacking up and supporting the axles.

Well changed the drop links OK, but have still got a slight knocking noise? only when going slow ( up to 15 MPH) defiantly coming from the front and is about 3 to 4 quick muffled knocks a bit like Rolf Harris on his wobbly board instrument thingy anybody any ideas?

Ditto when I did mine. It was the anti-roll bar bushes. Rather than buy new, I sleeved them with some bicycle inner tube rubber and clamped them up and everything was hunky dory. V quick and easy to do. Do a neat job and I can't see an MOT station noticing, let alone caring

Had the same problem myself.

The anti-roll bar bushes are a good bet for this one. You can either fix them as above or buy new ones for about £10 a pair.

I have previously wrote a detailed topic on this job. You have to be careful when undoing the bolts that hold the bush brackets as they can shear easily. Not a huge problem apart from the fact that the bolts are captive and have a fine thread (you cant replace the nuts with normal ones).

Its a REALLY easy job though. Just take your time and make sure you have spares to hand.

If it isnt these bushes then check the rear wishbone bushes. I have seen these gone before. Bit more of a job and more expensive so fingers corssed mate!!
