Mike? If you'd left it another hour, i doubt you'd have got out till next week mate. It REALLY flooded after you had gone!

I had to pack up hastily too, where i was situated (or was that saturated? ) There was a real risk of me, (and everybody to my left) getting stranded on gibralter farms very own island!

Mines 4wd, but that's not much use with skinny low profile tyres

Still had an ace time despite the flu, thanks harry for a damp, yet top meet! =D> =D> =D>

Thanks too for the accomodation from dbo,the washers from kawasaki kid,and the good laugh provided by wayne and granitetim on the friday evening in the marquee!

(no there isn't a spare hook-up!) [-X [-X

An extra special big thank you to dabs for the weather updates, and the encouragement to drag myself from my beechams powders, and get up & out there! Wouldn't have made it without ya bud....

En route home the weather got steadily drier up until we got to Buxton where as usual heavy rain was on us.. great to see Everybody especially young Louis who was having a great time.
Respect to all that stuck it out,and hope to see you all at Southport.

Very sorry I couldn't be there this year (never mind the rain, and Friday evening must have been beautiful, albeit cold, and Sunday morning looks beaut again). Harry knows, but we had some family issues that meant changing priorities. In the event, I caught man 'flu and have been out of action for the last few days, so I'd have ben stuffed anyway.

Looking forward to seeing more pics (rain and all) and hearing tales of derring do involving Noahs Ark, as the mudsoaked stragglers return home.

Looking back over these 2 exceptionally wet summers, you almost wish we could develop a meetings strategy where the stress of organising was kept to an absolute minimum (i.e. zero) and go / no go decisions could be left late enough to gauge whether the weather is likely to cause a wash out. I suppose one big obstacle is securing camping pitches at short notice. Anyone got any brilliant ideas on all this?

In the meantime, I think special thanks and recognition are due to the likes of Dabs, Harry, Jetskier, Peg Leg Pete (others in other regions?) and de Bongomeister himself who have all had occasions of considerable stress (Harry will now tell me he doesnt 'do' stress  ) in organising meets, much of it due to the glorious British weather. =D>

Just got back from our Des res at Silverdale, complete with private moat!!. Had another brill time with all the usual nutters :D. Bongo-Louis's grandson(mini-me of his grandad) kept us all entertained on Friday night, impersonating Kirsty with his dayglo bangles, so funny!!!. Kirsty you've got competition now :D . Big thanks to Harry for his hard work organising this again :D . Take care till we all meet again.

Sorry to hear the weather didnt play ball - I have been trying desperatley to get to this meet as I really fancied a weekend kiting at Bolton Le Sands (and of course it would have been nice to put a few faces to names and say hello  ). Unfortunately (for socilalizing and anything other than work) I have orders for half a dozen full conversions so it looks like weekend and evening work until christmas - maybe next years meet  .
Best get back to the workshop for the afternoon shift!!!

Thanks Harry for organising all this and good to see you back in your bongo. =D>

What a shame that the non dog show didn't produce any winners due to the weather! #-o
Also, thanks BDC for letting me use your hookup spot after you went, but sorry you had to go. I was greeted by DBO on my wet/windy arrival with a lovely brew and many thanks for your help setting up. Thanks Di and Jamie for your hospitality, couldn't ask for better neighbours on both sides! Great to see you again Hatris, Woodenwheel, ChellandAdy and blingo squadron, Waycar8, snowkiter, kawasakikid, jetskier, MC, Muz (cheers for the nice cider by the way must remember to get the name of that), Muzette was so sweet and good to see you too Muz junior!

I think there was one hookup free, the one with the big lake next to it Dreamwarrior? ;) Sorry to those I missed, and the peeps in the other field you were all very brave. Lovely to see Bongo Louis again and little Louis is a little star with the cowavan the main attraction! Hope you're ok Mr & Mrs Munkey [-o<

I had a great time catching up with you all, and a convoy back. I can't wait for next time.

Well done Harry!

I arrived Saturday afternoon, as promised, I knew what the weather was going to be like, I also knew that the sun was going to shine today Sunday. The view over the Estuary early this morning was stunning. I took off early this morning to tour the area and take advantage of my journey. It can be off-putting in this country waiting for the weather. Today was perfect! Thanks for organising it Harry. The photographs were good showing the children enjoying their water-sports - now what would they have been doing if at home? Watching telly or on their computers.

Sorry I missed Saturday's jollifications, I was behind Harry's marquee and had'nt realised that there was a party, there was me drinking alone in my Bongo listening to Classic FM until 2am.

Best Wishes,

Walter.
