Anyone know correct belt tensions for alt. & A/C please!

Post by Lloydy » Fri Oct 03, 2008 11:08 pm

Hi all,

I am replacing both alternator belts and the A/C belt this weekend.

I know that various threads contain peoples ideas on how tight they should be but would like to hear the most up-to-date info and experience from all.

Not being that technical may guage will be a good wiggle with my hand and a tape measure!

Your wisdom is welcomed and appreciated!!

Thanks,

Lloydy

I do mine tight enough to be able to twist 90 degrees, but no more than that.

Not too technical & a rule of thumb from the good old days that works for me.
