Lou, have you noticed your Bongo and my panda are waving in tandem? Kind of like the panda is pulling a string to pop your roof up.

Re: Panic - coolant alarm went off....
Bob....thanks for the warning....tell your panda to keep his hands off my string...lol
Will spk to the garage in the morning

You really are best to arrange recovery to the garage, it will be much cheaper than blowing the head. (You lot keep quite, you know what I mean.)
I'll tell old panda to behave, although he never has yet.
Seriously, good luck, it really doesn't sound too bad.

TGP,I have no professional advice on this cooling system, but you seem to have all the anwsers!!! I've repaired/replaced pipes on my bongo with no ill effects, but you don't seem to believe this.
It seems to be your way or no way!! Perhaps you should write the "Be all and end all" of the coolant system, you will put everybodys minds at rest and there will be no more problems with coolant issues, cheers,Lee.

If anyone has got anything to say that is helpful to Lou, please start a new thread.
