If I remember correctly vaseline is a petrol based product and breaks down rubber
other products should be used

Yep,think Weston is correct there,Vaseline is Petroleum Jelly.....try Veg Oil.....or Slide n Glide from Ann Summers.It doesnt rot condoms so shouldnt harm your roof seal..
