What no lights-on bleeper?

Post by Veg_Ian » Mon Sep 15, 2008 7:53 am

Took the dog out for his early morning walk on Saturday morning. I drove through fog so put the headlights on. Parked up and locked the van. When I came back an hour later I found the headlights on. Fortunately she started ok but obviously the lights-on beeper wasn't working. Trouble is, it's not something you would notice much, especially in the summer, so it could have been faulty for quite a while. I'm trying to think if I've inadvertantly disconnected or shorted the bleeper when doing something else. Anyone have an idea or direct me at the bleeper/correct connector please?

The "key in ignition" connector is under the steering wheel, beneath the cowling, that may be linked to the lights on buzzer, (as i guess it links to the light stalk?) I disconnected my beeps from the blue box in the driver's side footwell the first week i got the bongo.

Would you believe i've never inadvertently left the lights on? Accidentally left it in reverse, accidentally left the keys in the ignition,or accidentally left the roof up!

So the lights-on bleeper is affected by the blue box in the footwell? Yeah I pulled that ages ago. If it's an all or nothing job then I think I'll take my chances and leave as is. It must be only my first ever time of leaving the lights on in over 30 years of driving anyway.

I just disconnected the white plug under the cowl, and it has removed the beep when key in ignition and door open. My lights left on beep is still there.

Having a manual geared lowroof I did not have as many beeps as the rest of youse anyway.
