What's this under my passenger seat

Post by Morag » Sun Aug 31, 2008 11:18 am

I'm looking to fit an Eberspacher heater to my Bongo shortly so I followed Dandywarhols photos on where his is installed

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v641/ ... erspacher/

when I lift my passenger seat to look at where his is fitted(if you look at the photo titled mounting plate), I have this attached to one side

Any suggestions as to what this is? Cos it's gonna make the Eberspacher a tight fit!

What's this under my passenger seat?
Rust! :( Something fortunately we don't have. :D

Seriously though, we do have a Webasto Airtop 2000, and the connections to it don't look anything like your photo.

On another note, the outlet comes out in the middle of the van, which I would say is better if you can organise it, than the door well.

The photo of the mysterious thingy under the seat was last weekend, the Applecross ones about four years ago.

In case it's connected, the Bongo was originally a north Japan twin battery Bongo.

Hi its all to do with your winter pack you will have an exhaust flap fitted I had this on mine and tossed all the pipes and vacume unit you show in the picture so I could fit my webasto airtronic 2000 so just do the same the best thing to do is the main supply pipe to it is cut it then bloke it of but make sure the exhaust valve heater switch at the o/s of the dash is in the off position first.

I'm looking to take it out Oggie, I'm provisionally booked in to get a full system fitted at Longlife in Leeds and I think they're going to remove all the bits that are worked by the 'thingy' so I should be able to disconnect it all then [-o< I'll let you know.
