Well here you go, this is one for you Techno bods !
We have just got back from Ireland (12 days) and from day 2 after approx 90 minutes of travelling the hold light would flash and put us in limp home mode (very annoying

) but we found that after approx 40 minutes of cooling off, away we went again quite happily for you guessed it another 90 mins then same again. Now after several conversations with the mighty BongoLord, mechanics on the phone (Thanks Gerry from Discount Trucks) and on route also the odd fella in the occasional bar

and having checked my engine, gearbox, and anything else I could think of we carried on, fingers crossed. Well it worked, we got all the way around same thing happening all the way but we got around all 2500 km.
The day we came home travelling down through Wales at 1am, the same thing happened (long night this was going to be I thought), with a 4 1/2 hour journey home to the New Forest ahead of us.
But this time when I restarted the engine the fuse blew on the radio/elec mirrors & cigarette lighter

Well the Bongo then ran like the wind all the way home and ever since. What was the problem then I here you say? well quite simply to save all the power I could in the leisure battery for wild camping at night I was plugging the 3 way fridge into the dash cigarette socket during the day, this it appears was over heating the wiring and then the engine sensor was picking this up and so deciding there was a fault and putting us into limp mode. You have been warned, I just wish it had blown the fuse on day 2, then I would have sussed it earlier

cheers! party on dudes.
