Post by trekie » Mon Aug 18, 2008 1:12 pm

hi y'all,
the replacement speedo i got for galileo is set to KPH so ive bought a speedo converter to install. its simple to install #-o but the instructions refer to a "signal" wire but doesnt say what colour, i have to cut into this wire and attach the gagget. any suggestions peeps :?: (polite ones, i could hear the brain cells straining  )

cheers

The wire to the speedo from the loom is blue with a white stripe. There are 2 in the multiway connectors & I can't recall which one it is, but follow the tracks on the back of the instrument panel to the SP+. I think its the 3rd one in from the left at the connector closest to the centre of the instrument panel.

Found this pic - may be of some use - ignore the yellow line. It shows my speedo convertor wiring before I removed it. The blue connection is the output from the chip, so I think if you follow the copper track up, it goes to the 3rd contact across (the one with the plastic peg). This is connection which goes to the blue/white wire that you need to cut to feed into the chip (yellow in the case of mine).

The other wires are: red - convertor +12v & green is the negative supply.
