Front Heater control damaged

Post by zimbobigdog » Fri Aug 08, 2008 10:37 am

Hi all,

My heater control in the front has just gone faulty. The fan works fine but the control to adjust between fubctions (face only, face/legs, legs only, legs/demister or demister only) no longer works. Any ideas how I can remove and check the control panel or what might be wrong with it?

Thanks,
JJ

Look down by your foot in the drivers footwell the linkage has probably become disconnected -

If its the later digital type & the unit is faulty, I've a spare one in the shed you can have if needed.

Hi all,

I had a look and found the linkage and found that it is actually broken. I have some pics. Any idea how I can upload them? Is this part a bongo specific part or would I be able to source the part from any dealer? Any ideas welcome...

Thanks,
JJ

To upload photos you need to open a Photobucket or other free hosting account, upload the pics to the account & paste the bottom link onto the forum, instructions in the "guidance " section at the top of the forum I think.

Hi all,
Please find attached (hopefully) photos of the Heater linkage in my bongo. I'm not sure that there is any wire bits missing... Does anyone's look the same as mine?

The first pic shows the broken bit of the part.

The second pic shows a wire that is in Kirsty's pic above but not in mine:

I guess yours are manual heater controls? When you operate the controls, does the linkage rod coming down vertically on the left operate the big white platic cam type bit? Then it's a matter of checking whether the other linkage rods coming off it are operating the relevant flaps as they should.
