power in my bongo box has stopped workin-cider gettin warm

Last weekend after leaving the fridge/water pump plugged in for about 4 hours the power stopped while brushing my teeth. Thinking that the leasiure battery had gone flat I thought nothing of it. After all there was only one more day of camping before a long drive would charge everything back up again.

When I got home I plugged the fridge and things back in to check everything was ok, still no power

I have checked the connections and even plugged something else into the socket to check. I have also had a look at the battery. The only slight thing is the green glow on the leasure battery isn't very bright at all compared to the engine battery.

I'm really not sure where to start looking for what the problem is. Whether the leasure battery isn't holding a charge or if fuse is gone or the back socket has broken.

We have had the wiring up-graded between the leisure battery and the back socket.

I'm not sure were to start looking for were the problem is, can anyone help?

If the battery is showing green, it should be fully charged. Sounds like the socket may be faulty or fuse gone - have you tried anything clipped to the battery to see if that works?

try a 12v bulb and a bit of wire. or if you have one an inspection lamp (12v )

I would check the fuse between the start battery and the split charge relay as this can blow, if the leisure battery is very discharged, on the initial current surge when the split charge relay operates. This fuse blowing will prevent the leisure battery from charging. If thie fuse has blown the leisure battery should be charged with a battery charger before replacing the fuse otherwise it will probably go again.

If its a standard coolbox you have then 4 to 5 hours is probably all you will get before your cider stars getting warmer.
If you have one that has a low voltage cut out to protect your battery then due to voltage drop it will work for even less time plugged into the rear12v socket than it would in the front one, but either way the wiring to these is not up to powering anything substantial for long periods.

As manny suggested, fully discharged leisure battery may have lead to a blown fuse on a split charging circuit, so worth doing a few checks with a multimeter to se if everything is working as it should be.
