Member needs help with overheating/fan belt/pump problem

Post by Biscuit » Sun Jul 27, 2008 6:05 pm

Hi there.

Ramsey (Bongo Fury member) is out and about in Cornwall and is suffering from an overheating engine possibly due to a fan belt issue or a faulty water pump. Can anyone tell him where the fan belt is located or if there is any Bongo help int he area?

He can be contacted on 07718 800686 or if you can post messages here, I'll pass them on.

Thanks!

There is a list of bongo brigade members on the members section of the website.

They have all offered to help bongos in distress.

My geography of the south west is a bit sketchy being frop 'up north'.

good lick

Problem being was I didnt have access to the net or this site so was hoping someone wold tell my mate who was in the brigade down here.
Never mind all ok now.

Basically the main water pipe under the drivers seat was cracked and leaking water, green flag were out in no time and did a temporary repair.
I now need to know where can I get hold of this pipe so I can replace it?

Thanks

Ramsey.

I hope Green Flag bled it correctly. Have you got a low coolant alarm fitted ? It would have prevented the overheating long before the gauge moved. Lets hope no damage was done. Good luck !

Thanks all, was very worried at the time and also worried about getting a hose but it seems theres a few about and not too expensive. The greenflag man didnt bleed the system but he did test it with some sort of pressure thingy attached to the water tank and also revved the motor like mad as he said this would rush the water through and get rid of air blocks apparently???
Drove it home from Newquay to Bude way and it seemed alright?
Is this something left to the experts (have left a message with Allan in Plymouth).

Thanks all again,

Rams.
