water hose (above starter motor)
hi there i am new to bongoing and was wondering can anybody tell me what this hose does ie where is the water going to that goes through it ? i have ordered one from bongobits and would like to know what fluids i would have to replace and were to put them once replaced ? also will it be safe to drive on short trips whilst waiting on the part ? cheers
Re: water hose (above starter motor)
Hi, This is the hot water/coolant feed to the rear heater.
Do not drive with a leaking coolant pipe, if level dropstoo low you will overheat and possibly crack your cylinder head.
Whilst you replacing this hose take the time to flush the coolining system out with a hose pipe n the header tank and exiting where your new pipe is going. Take care when refilling with coolant/antifreeze to bleed the system carefully. Instructions in members area or search on this forum for 'bleed'.
Hope this helps.

Hi and welcome to the madhouse
There is a fact sheet in the member's area for bleeding the system.
Don't forget to put your location in your profile - it really does help us to help you. There's no point recommending something in Scotland if you're in Cornwall

If you joined on-line, you'll probably hear from Ian today - if not, try looking in the junk folder of your email - some ISPs may think it's junk mail. If that fails, send Ian a PM.hhc wrote:cheers francophile, i have now added my location but have had no reply about my membership as yet

Whatever else you do or not do...Make sure you get the bottom hose HOT when you bleed. This means the stat has opened and it should then bleed correctly. It will take about 30/40 mins for this to happen.

Approx 13 litres - all the info should be on the factsheets there somewhere I think.
