tracking degree setting

Post by theat » Wed Jul 16, 2008 6:16 pm

hi, my front tyres are wearing badly on the outside edges. so i took it into central tyres to get the tacking checked, but as its an import, it wasn't on their settings chart. does anyone know what it is? thanks, rob.

The fact sheet (& handbook I think) says toe in of "average -1.7mm", the opinion seems to be that this is a slight misinterpretation from the original Japanese, this is a degree of accuracy not possible or expected from wheel alignment. Common sense says this should in fact read an "average of -1 to 7mm".
Mine were set to parallel (which is within this range) when I first got it, I did just over 10 months on those tyres which have worn completely even as far as can tell, & it handled fine, I vaguely remember a few people since then recommending it be set as parallel (I was going to get mine changed to the -1.7 in the handbook #-o ).

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
