how do i get the steering wheel off????

Post by bongomike » Tue Jul 15, 2008 8:23 pm

Does anyone know how to get the steering wheel off on a 95? I have got the horn off and the large nut but it doesn't seem like it wants to budge, is it just brute force to pull it off or am i missing something.

cheers M :?

Haven't tried on the Bongo, but they often stuck on the splines - brute force and ignorance usually helps

Theres a tip mentioned on here somewhere, that you should replace the nut enough, so when the brut force is used to remove the wheel, it does not come away with such force that you break your nose, or knock yourself out.

   Like anybody could manage to break their own nose whilst demonstrating the dangers of not replacing the nut on the wheel! :-" :-" :-" ( i had to straighten it back out again myself too, which REALLY hurt!)

Don`t worry Ste your not the only one to do it some one I knew many years ago broke both his nose and jaw removing a steering wheel - He was in pain and we were in stitches laughing at him  sympathy who needs it. #-o He didn`t speak to us for a while after his accident - don`t know why
