its not a air flow meter is it ?,and if not does the bongo have one ?

I have just posted another tread about an item in the picture on page 1 which shows the problem bit that I have in relation to the rest of the engine bay - any advice would be appreciated.

The pipe that goes behind the white junction box at the top of the photo has snapped off (don't know how).

What does it do and how important is it?
