I am having the cambelt changed on the Bongo next week. The mechanic has sourced a cambelt kit but wants to make sure it is the correct one it was cheaper than the one available here. He doesn't want to get to the point of changing it and find it is the wrong one. Is there any easy way of identifying it as the correct one?
Cheers
Martin

Re: cambelt change
Did I read on here that it is a good idea to make sure a new tensioner is put on at the same time as the belt? Anyone able to advise quickly?

Re: cambelt change
There are several manufacturers & they all use different part numbers. I bought 2 from the club shop & they both had different numbers on. For £22 you can buy one from the club shop & be sure it will fit. It is also worth replacing the tensioner pulley & spring while you're at it. An extra £30 - £40 now is a small price for piece of mind (& cheaper than a load of bent valves)
