Changing fuel filter

Hi,
I want to change my fuel filter but was wondering how to dissconnect the wires underneath, do they unscrew or just pull out. Any other advice on the process would be great.

I undone the connection half way up the wire. The filter trap can then be unscrewed, and then the filter itself.
One tip i've read on here, is to fill the new filter with a fuel additive, before fitting. This helps to stop an air lock from happening, plus gives the injectors a good clean.

Thanks for your help, unfortunateley I can't open pdf file as I'm not a member yet and haven't got spare cash at moment to join, hence the attempt to change filter myself!

Remove the clip attaching the plug onto the chassis, then simply unplug from there...

Cheers BDC & BB, I'll give it a whirl next weekend. The reason for changing filter is that I'm having touble with gears changing. I've fiddled with TPS, which solved problem for a week or two then problem returned. I've cleaned banjo filter, which wasn't very dirty anyhow, fuel filter and air filter are next stop!
I've been trying to get hold of a new TPS but they are pretty elusive, AVA leisure offered a second hand one but couldn't guarantee it worked okay.

I take it you have changed the ATF? Removed the sump pan, and cleaned the filter(s) in the autobox?

Have you had any hold light flashes when the bongo was reluctant to change gear?

I haven't changed ATF as it wasn't done long ago, levels okay and the colour looks okay. How often should it be replaced? Maybe I'll get it done again anyway!

Have you checked the level since it was changed? Make sure it has warmed up properly, then range up & down throught the gears (Handbrake on, footbrake depressed & wheels chocked) slowly, check the level with the selector in "D". Several people have found that the level seems to drop shortly after changing the ATF, I suppose as it fills all the nooks & crannies. Was the filter cleaned when it was changed? if not it may be an idea to drop the sump plate & clean the filter - there's loads of info on here.

when you change the fuel filter, before putting the new one back fill it up with injector fluid to clean (doh the injector jets). it will also be ready primed for starting ,instead of an empty filter waiting for fuel.
