Get back into the chatting mate, lots of people promote lots of things all the time mate and nowt is ever said.

I offer a full refund if an alarm is returned because the customer is not satisfied. If there appears to be a fault I'll be happy to supply a replacement to test first.

yes Dave join in the discussions, especially the overheating ones you dont have to push your alarm, just makes sure you just reply by saying something like

"Do you have a Dave Mason alarm fitted it tells you if your engine is getting hot and also adjusts the temperature gauge to give you a true reading and at £27 its a steal"

it works for other people and nothing gets said, also word of mouth is good on the forum, i have recomended your alarm to a few people and i know of 3 that has bought them through recomendation

As I recall, it was the members who dragged you onto this forum as they'd heard what a good idea it had proved in the Townace (was it?). You then offered to develop and test for the Bongo and it proved a success. Maybe the member(s) who have accused you of promoting it would benefit from that history lesson. The price is excellent, the product invaluable, and your sales and support exemplary. I'm ashamed to say I've not fitted a Mason alarm yet but I expect to get around to it.

Thanks for responding so quickly. The 'squealing' debate is just an essential part of product development and refinement.

It is not fixed solid, I will just blu-tack it. I drilled a small hole in the bottom corner of the cubby, dropped the probe down, and grabbed it from underneath. The probe is stuck in one of the threaded holes on the side, and filled with copper-ease to hold it in place. I have left some spare cable in the engine compartment to allow for the shudder, when turning of engine.

Now for readings
Before starting engine.........................................10 deg
Start engine and reverse onto road......................12 deg
10 minutes down the road at 60MPH.....................87 deg
This must be when the Fan kicks in as drops to......63 deg
Stays around 63 deg for length of journey. Driving between 50-60 mph
Stop engine for 5 minutes temp shouts up...............90 deg
Drive off again, temp soon drops back to................63 deg
Put heating on full blast, quickly drops to................59 deg
Switch heating off, quickly rises back to .................63 deg
Slow down, and drive through village rises to...........70 deg
Photo taken around 4 hours after stopping...............45 deg

I did not realise that the engine temperature would shout up so high once switched off I understand why, but still!!

Trwaling through some old stuff to see where the best place to stick the box would be - I came across this but the pics have been deleted.

A popular place seems to be the three blanks to the left of the steering column but my Coolant alarm lives there.

Where else could it go?

You leave the promoting to the rest of us Dave, so many of us have been posting links to your site & telling people to fit alarms, you probably won't get a chance to promote anyway , as long as you join in If I remember right, one of the main accusers is long gone anyway

After fitting yours & Haydn's coolant alarm, I have much better peace of mind that if anything does happen , I'll know about if before I end up with a cooked engine

Keep up the good work, take note of the all the positive comments & ignore the negative

I blutacked mine to the ashtray on the console for a week or 2 while I was setting up the right temperature, then I put it behind the removable panel under the steering wheel. Wayne's idea is a good one though.

Back from 20 miles of thrashing the kn*ckers out of the poor old boy. Heavy hills, stuffed it in S & used Hold going down.

It works a treat too!!

Not managed to get the guage over the 2 o'clock position, only beeped once when set at 3.5.

Will leave it on 4 for a few days & see before mounting somewhere suitable.

I put mine in the little cubby hole on the righthand side by the door - don't use it for anything else and it just sits there neatly pipping on start up.
