Anyone know the torque wrench setting for the manifold broken stud.
And by the way you can get the stud and nuts from RS components for a fraction of what they cost from mazda, you have to buy 5 studs and a 100 nuts but they are still cheaper than 1 of each from MAZDA !!!!!!

Ah but, can the cheapo nuts and bolts stand heating up and coolong down a few hundred (thousand?) times before they shear and snap off or are they bog standard mild steel which may last a month or two?
I would imagine the original studs are made from something which can take the stresses and strains of every day running.

You don't need a torque wrench setting for a broken stud. The new one yesGRAHAMPK wrote:Anyone know the torque wrench setting for the manifold broken stud.

Re: BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUDS
they are made from EN1A which is a common engineering material used for engineering studs.
And all steels will stress relieve at with constant heat cycling so I believe it will be as good as the original which break anyway.
And DOH!! I wonder why I would want to torque a broken stud !!!
I was a title to decribe the fault !!!
