noise from underdash

Hi All, Have got noise like something spinning and catching! only lasts for about 5 seconds only does it when i first set off, does not do it in reverse or when i stop at lights etc, when i park up again the same happens, hot or cold its the same

do you mean when you first turn on the Key to start or when you start to move the bongo?

Hi, The noise appears when i first move off

Possibly the speedo cable inner core is beginning to fray and catching on the outer core as it begins to turn as you move off.

the speedo is electric so I dont think a cable gose to the dash except an electric one which won't spin

ready to be proved wrong on this though

you sure the noise is actually coming from under the dash?

Hi, it sounds like it i have driven round block with passenger side engine cover up it didnt
seem to come from engine its a bit of a mystery

Could it be something to do with the ABS? When this works there is a similar sound that comes from (seemingl) behind the dash.y
