I know this is a stupid question, but what do I top up the coolant with? I was just going to use plain, ordinary, tap water - which was what I used in my astra diesel without problems for many years.

Apologies for being 'fick :? .

Whatever water you do use, I would have it ready mixed with antifreeze.
This stops you watering down the antifreeze in the system, but you need to use the same as whats alreay in there.

I've been out and looked and it looks clear to me, just like plain water - the container is a mucky brown colour so I've had to stick a white piece of kitchen roll & look at that. One thing tho', there's a lot of yucky brown bits in the bottom - is this going to be a problem? It needs topping up before I use it again, so I'm now having a minor panic attack - plain water or what?

dont use plain water (only if you have no other choice) halfords or any motor factor sell coolant ,and there is some universal coolant you can add to any mix /colour.
Lost without my Bongo.

Maybe ask Mike at wheelquick, how much to flush and top up the system with a proper mix of coolant.
Its all piece of mind and know you are looking after your Bongo.

Yep, mike'll sort it wigan pixie...He's used to the proper bongo bleeding procedure

As a short term top up, use some normal tap water for the time being.... (de-ionised preferably, a quid or so from morrisons garage).

It's quite important to have the correct ratio of coolant in your bongo WP,plain water isn't an effective medium for cooling the bongo engine.
