Help..... new owner and another coolant problem

Post by Ben » Mon Jun 09, 2008 6:23 pm

Sorry everyone for another coolant problem, but as I'm new to this would love some help.
I have a beautiful 2.5 V6 bongo mint condition, which has taken place of my wife. under the rear heater behind the drivers seat there are two pipes these have a small leak, but that is not the issue, next to it is a weep pipe or vent pipe sticking out thats my problem, its leaking coolant quite a lot a pint every 2 hours, Of course this is draining my coolant system. Q is this a drain point that has lost its cap or something more serious. :?: :?:

Are you sure it's coolant and not plain water from the rear aircon?

Hi John,
Yes its green and i,m topping the main reserve tank up.
Heaters work well so does the air con, is it some kind of overflow?

Hoggman I'm in cornwall down by falmouth. Its suppose to have a bung, on the little bit that sticks out?

Sorry, no idea about the V6 - mine's a diesel. The bleed pipe for the diesel is under the passenger seat - I've never heard of one at the back.

Its behind the driver seat right underneath the heater control, Just under sill. 2 pipes and a tube that to me looks like an overflow??

isnt that the feed to the rear heaters ? Are they still working ? I've got a deisal but I had leak from a pipe in that location. The reason was that I have a converted van where the rear heaters are disconnected and routed back to the engine.
Its just that the location sounds the same...
Hi im Simon
