cheap roof bars

Post by brookie » Sat Jun 07, 2008 10:38 am

Just bought a set of "value roof bars" from Halfords, £54.00, they fit a treat. You don't need a "fitting kit", just the roof bars and feet which all come in the one box, then drill out the middle outside hole on each foot to 8mm and bolt to the existing holes in the Bongo roof (bolts not supplied). Cheap and effective !

Oops, forgot, they are called "401 value roof bars", in a red box.

And another thing!! Fit the plastic feet to the bottom and drill through the metal and the plastic, fit the complete foot to the roof with the 8mm bolts, but use a couple of washers to make sure you don't over tighten the AFT roof nuts ! (thanks dandywarhol for the tip!!).
