Faulty Mazda Ga5r Speedo

Post by Jolly Rogers » Thu Jun 05, 2008 6:10 pm

I have got hold of a Mazda Ga5r speedo. The only problem is its faulty. The fault is when you start the engine the speedo needle goes straight to 20mph, even though the engine is just idling  Any idea if this is something I can fix?

pull off the need (carefully) using a small screw driver or t spoon handle, turn on the ignition and push the needle back on and it will be set at 0 again

Jolly Rogers, did you have a chip fitted? and have you re-fitted it? as you are not supposed to. Just a thought.
Maybe the face has been removed to re-set the odometer (which it doesn't need to be) and maybe the needle hasn't been re-fitted properly.
Sorry not much help but I'm sure nothing to worry about :D
