Thanks Mike. The front shower rail rings are fitted using modified building rhone pipe clips to go round the diameter of the Caravanstore tube.

Hi, well what a wonderful time I had up in Scotland. The site was spot on and Woody the owner (bongo owner) is a real gem. I hope Marianne is recovering now Ian. I had a terrible time with those little blighters too so I can totally understand, had a whopping black eye! Sorry I didn't get chance to meet a lot of you due to the antihistamines knocking me out for 2 days, you may have spotted me at some point as the nodding dog in DBO's bongo with Roo and co Thanks very much guys for keeping an eye on me! It was worth taking the awning to keep the midges away though. And despite all that, I was absolutely made up with the place, beautifuly scenery well done guys it's been fantastic

Yea - I was thinking that. The Scots are being secretive, and Dabs, DBO and BDC are maintaining radio blackout. There's something afoot I should nae wonder. Well I thought the same thing and didn't want to appear too forward so was waiting for other peeps to post first. Didn't take very many being being under cover but here's a few to whet your appetite...
After the bash headed down Kintyre and to isle of Arran, camped on the beach, stunning

Thanks dandywarhol, looks like you had a great time, shame I didn't get chance to pop over to see you down there, did you have less midges then? I guess they really like English blood at Loch Linnhe Your awning set up is really cool

Oh how lovely, Hotpot. To be honest, I'm sitting at home depressed and doing domestic chores having taken the week off to come up to Scotland but with family stuff working against it (kids, exams, 'must revise' says Mum though they don't get on with it). What a waste.
I envy you your freedom to roam without a risk of getting it in the neck on your return.
Keep the Scottish stories coming - it's as close as I look likely to get at present.

Great photos Hotpot, where you the one parked down the hill a bit, opposite a nice couple in black AFT? ( Hi guys)
Re: Scottish Bongo Bash (23 to 26 May 2008) Linnhe Lochside
Yes that was me hiding in the rear awning, on one of Ian's photies! I had some lovely neighbours on both sides. Sorry did spot you up there with the pimping crew but think you were leaving at that point.
It's a shame you couldn't make it Mike, are you any nearer deciding on York? (no pressure )

Me + family were in Fort William on Monday looking for somewhere to camp - bumped into two Bongos at Netpunes Staircase and a lovely local lady said "are you at the Bongo meet?" I couldn't believe my ears.. anyhoo, tootled along to the campsite and everybody had disappeared - d'oh! so near but so far ! still, weather and scenery was lovely and yes, those midges were vicious little sods..
I'll post a couple of pix when I (eventually) get back to Norwich.. gutted we missed you all

Just got home tonight. Been away a week, 1200 miles in 6 days. Loved each & every one of 'em.
Blown Away.
No effort left to write right now but will start on the blog tomorrow.
In the meantime, here's some visual tasters. . . .
Cool Site.
Next to an effin big rock.
Me & my bestist mate.
Luncheon on a train carriage
This beastie ran past the entrance to the site.
Off to Lewis
A couple of days later, we found this by an unspoilt Loch.
Blew me away!

Ok we've just made it home too! really wish we'd seen you all ! Anyhoo, here are a few pix from our "bongo nearly meet" at Loch Linney campsite !!
En route up North - a mountain as u would draw it at school :
Glencoe, Umbongo and me :
Ben Nevis and another non-meet Bongo we happened upon in the car park...
..which was subsequently joined by a Bongo local.. she told us about the Loch Linney meet..
..so off to the campsite, but no bongos in sight
There were a couple of imitations tho !
I read in a post before how Bongos seem to gravitate towards each other .. it seems to be true!!
An amazing place, well worth the trip

Well, we have made it back to Jannerland and my beloved Bongo behaved impecablely, towing a caravan and covering over 2500k's returning an average of 27mpg at at average 55-60mph.
It was great to meet up with old friends and make new aquaintances, the weather was great but the midgies weren't, however, fortunatly we weren't the flavour of the month and they found that poor Anne [hotpot] and Marianne were, we hope you are well again by now.
Thanks Mr Munkey for youir advice, empty roads most of the way, beautiful views.
Nothing from the Northwest crew??????????
We hope alls well
