manual gearbox oil capacity

Post by brookie » Tue May 20, 2008 10:07 am

Guys,

Can anyone tell me how much oil goes in the manual (2wd) gearbox? I want to change the oil soon.

Thanks!

Mark.

Long life gear oil (SAE 75W-90) 2.5 litres

The drawing (like a lot of the translated stuff in the manual) is misleading and it looks like the oil level is filled to the top

Looking at it closer it seems to be showing the gearbox sketch from BELOW the gearbox and "filler plug B" is actually the drain plug on the bottom, in a plate secured by 14 bolts and the filler plug is actually about halfway up the side of the 'box.

Yet another case of bad translation and poor proof reading - one day someone will come a cropper by following dodgy information! :(

Great! Thanks Dandy, yep, I'd sussed out the drain and filler, it does take a good look to decide which ones! Still, at least I can do the job now before I go to work.

Cheers,

Mark.
