Injector pump 'o' rings

Post by stanredski » Sun May 18, 2008 10:13 pm

Hi all,
I seem to have the classic front cover/back plate 'o' ring leak on the old hinjector pump. Appeared after serious dose of injector cleaner. so take note!!

I was hopeing someone could answer two questions .
Which is the best place ( and easyest) to get rings and can this leak, even if small, radically effect performance and or fuel economy.

Searched, but can't find it. Does anyone know the Bosch number of the pump itself? And is it found on any other vehicle?

The part numbers for the o rings don't compute - the parts I fitted were Bosch number: 2 460 223 001 - 000

Maybe they've been superceded from the Russian link........... :-k

If you are talking about the diesel fuel pump seals...just go to a diesel specialist and ask them for the seals for a ford ranger.

Aparrntly a common problem
