Fitting a stainless steel exhaust
Hi
Has anyone fitted a Stainless Steel Exhaust from mijperformance?
My back box fell off a week ago (it is currently held in place with a tin can and lots of exhaust putty!!) and I have seen one on ebay from mij but I was wondering how difficult it is to fit.
I live in Poole so a factory fit is not that convenient. I have also looked into longlife - they have a workshop closer but still over 2 hours away and want to see the bongo first to give me a quote.
Thanks in advance.
Darryl

Re: Fitting a stainless steel exhaust
I got a local garage to fit mine. AFAIK there was no problems at all, although they did not come with gaskets. It came with the standard tail pipe, which I have pimped a little
heres a picture of them:-

Been more than happy so far with the exhaust, and the service given by the company was brill.

Re: Fitting a stainless steel exhaust
brorabongo - out of interest how much did they charge to fit and was that including extra parts / gaskets / etc?
heatherpetch - I assume that was a longlife garage - I would have thought that if the one in Bridgwater could speak to the fitters you went to they would not need two visits - do you have their number?
cheers

Hi Grif:
i have a S/S exhaust system fitted @MIJPERFORMANCE.COM. Excellent product, cost was £284-99 cat back system for a V6,with a lifetimes guarantee.Go to their website and ask.All my questions were answered by them.Made an appoinment, went up,had it fitted, total time on the ramp was 3 hours. No prior inspection was needed.they even asked me what exhaust sound i would like=neat. Also had the wifes VW polo done 3 years ago, still solid NO rust.If something does go wrong ie:fall off.it will be repaired free of charge no matter when.Hope this helps

Hi Griff the number is 01132 798944 yes it is longlife and life time gurantee.
Re: Fitting a stainless steel exhaust
That sounds cheap - not worth the hassel of doing it myself at that price. Did that include gaskets, etc and how long did they take? Now I just have to find one down here that will match that!£20![]()
By the way are you happy with the exhaust system sent by mij?

Re: Fitting a stainless steel exhaust
Thanks for the link liggy but I have noticed that the flexi hose bit is also looking a bit tired so may as well go for the full replacement option.

Thanks heatherpetch, I will contact the fitters in Bridgewater to see if they can give me a quote without a visit and perhaps pass on that number to them.Hi Griff the number is 01132 798944 yes it is longlife and life time gurantee.
Do you like your new exhaust? worth the money?

Was not a big job, or specialist job at that, and gaskets were included. I just left my bongo at the garage in the morning and sometime in the afternoon it was dropped off. The mechanic would off worked on other cars during that time aswell. I am delighted with it so far, although there are rust spots discolouring, but whos looking underneath?

Re: Fitting a stainless steel exhaust
yes we are very pleased with it they even lent us a car while it was being done.Griffalo wrote:Thanks heatherpetch, I will contact the fitters in Bridgewater to see if they can give me a quote without a visit and perhaps pass on that number to them.Hi Griff the number is 01132 798944 yes it is longlife and life time gurantee.
