Don't know, but it is 2.28 tons. Divide that by 2 and you are in the ball park. And before you ask a ton is 2240 lbscorrour wrote:Hi Bongoliers

A "Ton" is Imperial - "Tonne" (pronounced tunny) is Metric......and there's 2.2046 pounds in a kilogramme.mikeonb4c wrote:As I was baffled, I googled it:
2.28 short tons = 2.06838121 tonnes
..which I guess goes some way to reconciling the apparent difference (but never heard of a 'short ton' before, only a 'ton')?
Never heard it called a 'short ton' before though? That's a new one on me, like they are pushing 'ton' off stage left as being eccentric and about to make tonne the new ton (heresy to an Imperial Units man like me, weird or not)dandywarhol wrote:A "Ton" is Imperial - "Tonne" (pronounced tunny) is Metric......and there's 2.2046 pounds in a kilogramme.mikeonb4c wrote:As I was baffled, I googled it:

Our Continental cousins must have a laugh at our way of weighing and measuring
