My relay came this morning & i just fitted it!
It bolted nicely under the dash just above the beeping stuff.. there was a bolt hole already there & i happened to have a bolt the right gauge!! (i earthed it there too).
I ran my Mazzy switch via the earth & with a bit of clever soldering rigged the switch to only light when the spots are on.
I fancy the spots are brighter.
So thanks fer all yer help with the advice, they now work a treat!!
