Tyres look flat

What pressure should my tyres be, They are all 195/70r/15c but they look flat when inflated to the reccomended psi on the door plate.

I know to improve MPG some people have increased their psi to 40 on the 215, what should I have on my 195's.

I have 195 front, 215 rears, all were on 40psi. I reckon the rears are showing signs of over inflation, and the fronts have since been replaced, and i would guess the firtter set the fronts to 35psi ? This is second change of front tyres since I got bongo, due to flat spots.

When the rears were run on 35-ish psi they did look slightly flat.

The FAQ section says says 32 front and 35 rear if you're running the standard 195 and 215 set up. Is that too low then?

Depends. You may need a little more with a conversion fitted.

I run mine on 40 all round. Sometimes though, if parked with two wheels up on a kerb, the roadside ones still look a little low.

I'd say so...those figures are for the tyres the bongo leaves the factory on (which i beleive were specially developed for the bongo) Seeing as they have been replaced in 99 out of a hundred bongo's in the ensuing years, i think the figures should be used as a general guide really.... Leaving youself a bit open there BDC there always seems to be conflict on this subject that why i stay away sit back and watch it boil, I agree tho general guide personel preferance, i don't think iv'e ever really taken note of factory tyre pressures depends on tyre as far as i'm concerned

I'm simply voicing my own experience, i ran around for two years on under-inflated tyres,which apart from being dangerous,is also not particularly fuel efficient,and the tyres were in my opinion over-heating because of the low pressure v highish weight,plus i was getting sick of people pointing out that my tyres were flat!

Up the pressures went...Not much, but enough to make all the difference.

It's a personal thing,a spot of experimentation was the order of the day.

With my bongo, on those tyres, it worked, 32&35 psi respectively was not suitable for my vehicle.

Not from me as I agree - but shouldn't we also be pointing out he shouldn't be on 195's all round anyway?

Mine handled like a pig when it had them all round - whatever the pressure.

Its a good compromise cheffy... On 225/45/18's it seems the best balance, as you know i'm on lowered suspension too,that plus the low profile tyres makes it...shall we say, firm?

Are you 4wd scanner? It was a case of me not knowing any different really, as my bongo had those tyres fitted when i bought it. They were brand new, so no need to replace em. (as far as i knew )

I didn't realize how much the handling would improve when i fitted rx8's on 245/45/18's... I couldn't really say if the improvement was down to moving from 195's or going to 225's or the lower unsprung weight,or a combination of all of the above,to many variables took place at once to be too definitive.

The handling improved further still when i moved to an even lighter wheel, and a tyre size of 225/45/18.

that was my exact thought, mines hard i'm 42 rear 40 front seems good for me and i still dodge the cats eyes, but i like it like that mite try your 45 alround just to see but i'll have to tighten down the panels i fear Na i don't find it that bad really i've nad cars that run allllllllllllllot harder infact most of them fell apart at some point or another my friend gotta vw transporter converted, dare i say it van, but i like the engine in mine, his is dropped 70mm i think, running rs4 replica 18s, and boy does it chew front tyres, my teeth nearly fell out my family find the drop cope-able infact they not commented YET
