Brake pads

Post by mikelamb » Wed May 07, 2008 11:02 pm

Hi,
Am I right in thinking that only the front brakes are disks and pads and the back are the shoe type? Also can anyone advise me where to purchase the front pads and also a filter kit for a sevice, I was thinking of ebay.
Cheers,
Mike

I know my v6 has disks alround with seperate handbrake shoes which is adjusted through a rubber grommit on the rear hub  sure the the diesal is the same but don't quote me
I got mine from a local backstreet factor had em on the shelf listed, euro parts stock them aswell but were out of stock with 3 day lead cost me £13 for the rears but reckon they could be quite soft and wear quick, we see, like the extra stopping tho

fronts are discs & pads, rears are discs & pads with drums & shoes. As long as the handbrake is working ok, I wouldn't worry about the drums & shoes, they aren't doing any actual braking, just holding the vehicle when stationary - unless of course you've been doing a lot of handbrake turns
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

I take it you have a 2.5 diesel engine - if you do the ebay item # you want for a filter kit is 250190323512 - costs £14.95 + postage - good quality filters , fast delivery - I buy these myself. Hope this helps Ian. :)
If I had all the money I ever spent on my Freda ............ I`d spend it on my Freda.
