Hi
My 99 AFT 2WD has developed a problem with the auto gearbox. After accelerating just a little harder than normal, about 20 minutes later it will jump down to 3rd gear and the HOLD light will start flashing (1 second on 1 second off).
The only way to overcome this is to wait for 30+ minutes with the engine switched off.
Anyway - I need to find a Bongo-friendly auto gearbox specialist somewhere near West London to get the fault analysed.
Can anyone suggest somewhere?
Thanks!

Worth doing the little trick in the gearbox article (members area) to see what error code is being generated? looks pretty simple and would give you more to talk to the gearbox specialist about when you call.

If you are the crawling about under the car type, on the top of
the gearbox and 2 between the fuel tank and gearbox are I think
3 connectors, it may be worth pulling them apart and cleaning
the contacts, they are difficult to part and clip together so don't
use brute force but it may cure Bongo.

Any chance of some pics of the connectors Ralph, have been meaning to take a look at mine for ages as I have an intermittant holdlight flashing....and recon it will be something like this (a simple bit of cleaning) but am not sure where to look......I am not really a crawl under the bongo type person but if I know what Im looking for, I dont mind giving it a go, before I book it in to get the solonoid pack changed.....yikes....Jo

Cant do pics just now but if you look under the van on the
drivers side just about were the heater controls are for the
rear heater there's a gray plug on top of the gear box, then
just to the side there's a gap between the gear box and fuel
tank there are 2 there smaller black ones they are clipped to
the side of the gear box a good spray with wd40 may help
them come apart but they are difficult to part
