Hi All,
Just got a new oil filter from bongofury shop. Can anyone tell me what sort/size washer I should ask for from Halfords to go behind the sump plug?
Cheers,
Benny.

Personally...I have always reused the old one and never had a problem....Must have used the same one 20 times on some cars.

Try above thread.
I'm still using the washers from my previous car a 2l petrol Ulysse. Also there is a mention of a ford part in the sticky about compatible parts.

Benny,
Just aneal the washer, by hanging it on a piece of steel wire (coat hanger ideal) and put it into the flame on the gas stove until it glows cherry red, quench it in water and put it back on.
Anealing it softens it up so it impresses into a sealing shape.

I got a ford ranger sump plug & washer in exchange for some sierra parts I had lying around

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
