BRAKES
Hi all i'm having a problems with my brakes, the brake pedal is travelling down to far if you pump it it comes back then goes if you push it, never goes to the floor though, i have changed the brake master cylinder but still the same has anyone had anyone similar problems like this? i'm going to check the servo etc tomorrow and have already checked for leaks any ideas ???????
Re: BRAKES
Have you got a soft flexi rubber brake pipe somewhere?
it could be weak and expanding but not leaking.

Re: BRAKES
Hi Nathan, have u checked all brake cylinders,i reckon u have a seal leakage,if so u probably have air in the system, renew seal n bleed your brakes. Regards Lionel

Re: BRAKES
Hi all thanks for your replies not sure if its the brake cylinders as there are no leaks that i can see i have checked for worn rubber brake pipes by having the brake pushed while i check them but nothing any other ideas guys
Re: BRAKES
It does sound like Ralph says, one of the flexi pipes is giving way and expanding.
There is a slim chance it could be wear in a wheel bearing. The wheel being able to move slightly in one of the calipers, could push a piston back a little and then require more travel on the pedal to pump the returned fluid back into this caliper.
Does this happen when parked? as the above would not happen when still, only when moving.

Re: BRAKES
Sounds like a master cylinder problem nathan! Did you fit a new one? if they're dry when you try to bleed it first time the cup seal inside can invert if it sticks to the dry bore

Hi its not a wheel bearing checked them for the mot they are perfect the van only does 500-1000 miles a year and gets stored in a warm clean factory. I have bled the system about four times now but got no air out and checked all four rubber hoses under pressure a few times this one has got me really puzzled ?? help yes have fitted a brand new master cylinder and pressure bled it
