Have a trustworthy person holding the footbrake on ribbleman, or use a couple of chocks from the spare wheel change kit, just to be on the safe side....

Last time i checked mine,i could hear the rear shoes creaking and groaning under the strain of the bongo trying to creep forward, which was a little disconcerting, you may have a better handbrake than mine though!

gearbox should be warm too, go for a short run before you check it again as the fluid expands when warm to give correct reading

If when you check the level in the correct way you find that it really is too full, you could suck some out of the filler tube using a Pela pump.

Also make sure the A/C is off, or else creeping will be stronger.

To answer you're original question - IF the 'box is overfilled then get it drained back to the proper level ASAP - it can damage the clutch packs through the oil frothing.
