May be the glow plug relay under the bonnet, drivers side in a plastic cover, may have got damp & oxidised contacts, try giving it a thump, if not you may be able to pop the cover off & clean up the contacts. Are all the normal lights coming on with the ignition?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

I'm watching this thread sotonbongo and wish I could offer some useful help. I can only suggest going through the motions to see if you have a glow at the plugs. Not sure how you do this - presume remove them and check power is going to them and that they glow. If it isn't that I'd guess you have to move on to the fuel system and see if you are getting any delivered. Even less of a clue on how to check that. Have you checked filters all clear? Good luck and keep us posted. Doesnt sound like its expensive, just a bugger to track down (I wonder if it will turn out to be something obvious #-o )

Have you checked whether there's 12v at the glow plug rail? check for burnt out or broken wires, this has cropped up before, I think there's an inline fuse under the bonnet as well as in the fuse box, may be wrong though :?
As the golw plug light is not coming on I would assume it is an electrical rather than a fuel problem, as long as the glow plug light was working before.
Would be worth using the search facility for past topics, you may find the answer, use "and" between each word, eg - glow and plug and fuse.
Hopefully someone more knowledgable will be along soon

Think you maybe right, fuel may be the problem.

Don't give up sotonbongo! If I didn't have my engine in bits, I'd have time to come & have a poke round with you. Have you checked the big fuse in the box under the bonnet by the air intake?

Yeah... Worth checking the bulb.

Someone (may have been Haydn) told me that the light isnt linked to glow plugs.... Its just a time thing to ensure you allow for heating up.
